The Ensemble Valhalla Core Team was responsible for organizing the annual management, cultural, and sports festival of XLRI during 4-7 March 2021. The committee organized the festival in association with all the other co-curricular and extra-curricular committees on campus. The dedication towards creating quality events that complement the traditional management learning provided had made Ensemble Valhalla one of the most awaited events in XLRI.
Apart from the 22 cultural events, 17 sports events, and 9 management flagship events which offer a holistic experience not only to the participants but also to the visitors, the core team also engages its audiences across the year by conducting events like Ignito and The Future Leaders Program. The festivities for this year’s event were aptly concluded with a stand-up comedy night and a Bollywood concert, which left the guests grooving till the wee hours of the night.
While Ensemble celebrates business sense and logic, Valhalla promises to be a cultural extravaganza that salutes sportsmanship, creativity and passion. Through the various events and festivities, Ensemble Valhalla looked forward to challenge and sharpen the leadership skills of the participants.
The sports committee of XLRI Delhi, in unison with the Ensemble-Valhalla team, executed the first-ever Valhalla at the Delhi campus on the 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th of March 2021, along with the Jamshedpur campus. The idea was to continue the legacy of Valhalla, which has been an integral part of XLRI for decades.
The event witnessed the seamless organization and management of 8 sports: Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Carrom, Cricket, Football, Pool, and Table Tennis. The sports committee made sure of minimal overlapping with the plethora of other activities going on in these three days for students to make the most of the sporting events.
The sports formats were kept as such to make them even more interesting. A test match was played, which lasted over two days. Basketball and Badminton were played in a triangular series format. Sports like Chess and Pool saw individual valour. At the end of the 3-day extravaganza, winners were awarded medals.
The prime objective was to garner maximum participation and create a culture filled with sports at the new campus, which was achieved.
