CONVOCATION DAY at XLRI Delhi NCR
On Monday, 16th May, 2022 we at XLRI Delhi NCR celebrated our very first convocation ceremony for the students of the PGDM (BM) batch. Under the aegis of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, gold medals for overall academic excellence, for women students, and for all-rounder were given to Piyush Jhawar, Shreyashi Chakraborty and Devansh Tripathy respectively.
We are further honoured to present the Fr. E. Abraham Medal for Industrial and Management Development award to the illustrious: Mr. R.C. Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Limited during the august occasion. The epochal event was graced by the presence of Shri T. V. Narendran, MD Tata Steel and Chairman Board of Governors XLRI who conferred the honour on the medal recipient.
Mr. Bhargava congratulated the students, and taking a leaf out of the business model followed across Japanese companies, impressed upon them the importance of working not only for the betterment of the individual but also, for the organization that one works with. He earmarked this to be the defining factor to propel the country towards greater economic success.
Mr. T. V. Narendran who is also the Chairman of Governing Body of XLRI harped on the students the importance of being the torchbearer for the institute. Emphasizing on the importance of propelling towards greater digitisation of the nation, he motivated the fresh graduates to become job creators rather than mere job seekers. Our students also received a wonderful piece of advice from Shri T. V. Narendran: to develop the tenacity to accept failures and come out more successful at the end of the arduous journey. He reiterated the importance of the XL spirit: “for the greater good” and motivated our students to aim for the sky.
Fr. Paul Fernandes, Vice Chairman of XLRI, congratulated the graduating students on their performance and reminded them of their unique position of being the flagbearers for the subsequent batches. He further blessed them and reminded them about the core values that XLRI had started with: to be a good neighbour and add value to humanity.
Fr. George Sebastian, Director, XLRI Delhi-NCR presented the yearly report and highlighted the achievements of the students congratulating them on attaining 100% placement. He further stated that this feat has enabled our fledgeling institute to break into the ranks of the top ten institutes in the country in terms of placement.
The convocation pledge was administered to the outgoing graduates by our Associate Dean (Academics) Dr. Narasimhan Rajkumar. We ended the ceremony on a high note by singing the National Anthem.
