up! SCALE by XL4W: Accelerating the Leadership Journey of Mid-Career Women

up! SCALE by XL4W is a transformational leadership program designed specifically to support mid-career women navigating a critical transition point in their personal and professional lives. Many women at this stage juggle increasing professional responsibilities alongside evolving personal demands such as marriage, motherhood, or spousal mobility. As they move from individual contributor roles to team leadership positions, they require not just encouragement—but the right skills, mindset, and structured support to thrive. up! SCALE was created precisely to fill this gap and to enable a smoother, more confident re-entry or progression into leadership roles.

 

The program is built on a clear understanding: organizations can retain and advance mid-career women only by equipping them with the awareness, knowledge, and tools needed for these transitions. up! SCALE therefore focuses on enhancing self-awareness, strengthening leadership intentionality, and developing concrete skills crucial for managing people, relationships, and business dynamics. Through curated exposure, inspiration, and opportunities for cross-industry engagement, the program empowers women to navigate organizational contexts more effectively and influence stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

Each session enables Introspection, Inspiration and Ignition.

 

This year’s cohort brought together 50 mid-career women from 18 organizations, with an average of 12 years of experience—a powerful, diverse community united in its aspiration to grow. The program is intentionally designed not as an academic exercise but as a practical, experience-led journey. Participants were equipped with concrete leadership tools, not theory, enabling them to apply learnings immediately in their workplaces.

 

A core highlight of the experience was the deep dive into personal leadership, anchored in the Six Feminine Powers model. This framework helped participants build sharper self-awareness, reconnect with their strengths, and cultivate confidence in decision-making. The “Circle of Self” and introspection-led modules laid a strong foundation for mindset shifts, personal clarity, and emotional management—key ingredients for successful transitions.

 

Building on this, up! SCALE expanded into the “Circle of Teams” and “Circle of Business,” creating a holistic leadership development framework that spans self, teams, and organizational impact. Participants learned to build high-performing teams, manage conflicts, delegate effectively, and understand team dynamics. Strategic thinking, stakeholder influence, and Organization Savvy  further strengthened their readiness for senior roles.

 

One of the most valued components of the program was the access to real-world mentoring from industry leaders.  These sessions provided actionable insights, honest career guidance, and inspiration drawn from lived experiences. Coupled with a facilitation team that fostered high engagement and psychological safety, participants consistently shared that they felt more confident, motivated, and clearer about their career direction.

 

The program also enabled the creation of a strong cross-industry peer network among the 50 women—a community that continues to support, challenge, and uplift one another well beyond the classroom.
