Our Commitment

At XLRI Delhi-NCR, we are committed to fostering an academic and work environment built on dignity, respect, equality, safety and inclusion.

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is constituted to prevent, prohibit and address sexual harassment and to provide an accessible, fair and confidential mechanism for addressing complaints.

PREVENT

Build awareness and promote a culture of dignity, respect and gender sensitization.

SUPPORT

Provide a safe, sensitive and confidential institutional mechanism for persons seeking guidance or assistance.

REDRESS

Ensure that complaints are addressed through a fair, impartial and documented process.

What is Sexual Harassment?

Sexual harassment may include, but is not limited to:

Unwelcome physical contact or advances.

Requests or demands for sexual favours.

Unwelcome flirtations, propositions, suggestive remarks, taunts or sexually coloured comments.

Sexually explicit jokes, gestures, sounds or communications.

Displaying pornography or sexually explicit or offensive material.

Unwelcome visual, verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature

Sexual Harassment at Workplace Prevention Week

Who Can Approach the ICC?

The Internal Complaints Committee is available to members of the XLRI community seeking guidance, support or redressal regarding sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct.

Students

Students may approach the ICC for guidance, support or to report concerns related to sexual harassment.

Faculty & Staff

Faculty and staff may approach the ICC for guidance, support or to report concerns related to sexual harassment or inappropriate conduct.

Other Members

Other members of the XLRI community may approach the ICC for guidance, support or to seek assistance regarding concerns related to sexual harassment.

How to File a Complaint?

If you wish to report an incident or seek assistance, you may submit a complaint through the ICC process.

Submit Your Complaint

Submit your complaint in writing to the Internal Complaints Committee, providing relevant details of the incident and the persons involved.

ICC Reviews the Complaint

The ICC reviews the complaint and takes the necessary steps in accordance with the applicable policy and procedure.

Resolution & Support

The matter is addressed through a fair, confidential and documented process, with appropriate support provided to the complainant.

When Should a Complaint Be Filed?

3 MONTHS

A complaint should ordinarily be made within three months from the date of the incident, or, in the case of a series of incidents, within three months from the date of the last incident.

If more time is required, the ICC can consider the circumstances and take an appropriate decision in accordance with the applicable law and institutional policy.

What Happens After a Complaint Is Filed?

Once a complaint is received, the ICC reviews the matter and follows the applicable procedure while maintaining confidentiality and fairness.

The ICC acknowledges the complaint and begins the process in accordance with the applicable policy and procedure.

Review & Inquiry

The ICC reviews the matter and, where applicable, conducts the inquiry fairly and confidentially.

Outcome & Support

Appropriate action is taken based on the findings, with support and guidance provided as applicable.

Powers of the ICC

The ICC has the authority to take necessary steps to conduct an effective inquiry.

Summoning & Attendance

Summoning and requiring attendance of persons relevant to the inquiry.

Examination

Examining persons as part of the inquiry.

Document Production

Requiring discovery and production of relevant documents.

Information & Materials

Seeking information or material necessary for the inquiry.

Your Rights During the Process

The process includes important protections for everyone involved.

Confidentiality

Complaints and proceedings are handled confidentially, subject to applicable law and institutional requirements.

Protection from Retaliation

Retaliation or victimisation against a complainant, respondent, or witness for participating in the process is not permitted.

Interim Measures

Where appropriate, the ICC may recommend interim measures to support the safety and well-being of the parties while the matter is being considered

If You Need Immediate Assistance

If you feel unsafe or need immediate assistance, contact appropriate campus authorities or emergency services, as applicable.

The ICC’s Three Core Functions

Awareness & Sensitization

Conducting awareness programs, sensitization initiatives, and preventive education on sexual harassment and respectful workplace conduct.

Support & Crisis Mediation

Providing a safe point of contact, listening support, guidance, and crisis mediation where appropriate.

Redressal & Inquiry

Receiving complaints, conducting fair and timely inquiry, and recommending appropriate action in accordance with applicable law and institutional policy.

A Safe Campus Is a Shared Responsibility

Every member of the XLRI community has a role in creating an environment grounded in respect, dignity, equality, empathy and responsibility.
